We have learned with great sorrow that an attack was perpetrated against a restaurant in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, last night (25 August).

We utterly condemn this attack and the terrorist attacks which have occurred in recent days and resulted in death and injury of numerous civilians.

We wish God’s mercy upon those who lost their lives in these heinous attacks, convey our condolences to their families and hope for a speedy recovery of the wounded.

Turkey will continue to decisively support the efforts to establish peace, stability and prosperity in Somalia and stand by the friendly and brotherly people of Somalia.
