We commemorate the late Rauf Raif Denktaş, the founding President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, with respect and gratitude on the fourth anniversary of his passing away.

As the leader of the dignified struggle of the Turkish Cypriots, the late Denktaş devoted his entire life to the cause of the rights, equality and freedom of the Turkish Cypriot people. Having overcome the difficulties confronted in this cause in unity and harmony with motherland Turkey, and upholding the notion of common destiny, the late Denktaş will preserve his exceptional place in our hearts and history with his leadership and statesmanship qualities.

We respectfully commemorate once again the late Rauf Denktaş and express our conviction that the Turkish Cypriot people’s righteous struggle will lead to a just and lasting settlement in the Island and turn it into an area of peace, stability and prosperity in the region.
